School Supply Drive

Each year, many area youth start the school year without basic supplies to aid them in their educational endeavors. Thusly, the Fund is a major contributor to the Crystalyn W. Thompson School Supply Drive and Giveaway. Joining other corporate partners like Wal-Mart, Staples and Office Depot, the Fund contributes essential school supplies to benefit needy youth in the Greater Richmond area.

Study on Child Hunger

In January 2007, the CWT Fund will embark upon a study on hunger amongst youth and children who participate in school free/reduced lunch programs. Preliminary information indicates students who participate in free/reduced lunch programs often go without meals during the summer months when school is out. This study will be conducted with cooperation from the Central Virginia Food Bank.
