Our Philosophy
The objective of our organization is to reach out to the destitute, disheartened and disenfranchised in a manner that
enables and empowers personal development, personal achievement and the maximization of educational possibilities while promoting
self-sufficiency.
Our History
The Crystalyn
W. Thompson Memorial Fund was formed to assist children and indigent persons with acquiring basic life supplies
to include food, clothing and educational resources; to support and conduct nonpartisan research into the plight and performance
of youth from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds; to provide educational resources through the staging of an annual
school supply giveaway; and to educate the public about the funding needs of organizations that provide services or advocacy
for disadvantaged people. After conducting research with the assistance of JEB Stuart Elementary and Chandler Middle School
in 2001, we have conducted an annual school supply drive to assist youth from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds
with essential school supplies to start the school year. In 2005, we handed out school supplies to 404 area
students! Our Board of Directors constantly evaluates the merit of proposals and ideas aimed to help those persons that
need it most.
